O Lord of Nations, Hear Our Prayer

Music by Grace Hennig

This hymn was written for Thanksgiving 2001, that first Thanksgiving after the terrifying events of September 11. We felt the presence of God pulsing even through the smoke, fire, and fear. He had not forsaken us.

Then and now, we thank the Lord of all nations for what we still hold onto, including the freedom to worship him. And we humbly ask him to give our leaders wisdom and to protect us from those who continue to plan acts of terror and treachery against us.

Notice that there are two different musical settings of the hymn, one by Philip Biedenbender and one by GA Hennig. Both stir the heart and beautifully support our thoughts and prayers of this text.
